Dobbins recently signed her letter of intent to play softball next season for the McKendree University Bearcats in Lebanon, Illinois, which is in the St. Louis metropolitan area...

The Holcomb High School softball program has won at least 20 games in each of the past five springs, so it is statistically likely – particularly with veteran Hornet coach Matt Casper guiding the group – that Holcomb will reach that level of success again. However, an obstacle to overcome is the fact that the Hornets graduated a legendary senior class of five players who have achieved an incredible amount of success over the past four years.

Dom Guglielmo has traversed this country throughout his life being a “military kid and a football coach.” Two-plus years ago, he moved to Caruthersville to serve as a physical education teacher and varsity football coach, and he has seemingly found a home.

The Bernie High School softball program is going to have quite the task in 2025 in topping its 2024 achievements.

There is no shortage of positive reasons why the South Pemiscot High School softball team won’t be difficult to deal with next spring, and the return of junior-to-be Phoenix Simmons is as critical of those reasons as any. “Phoenix knows softball,” third-year Bulldog coach Lance Crawford said this season of Simmons. “She has played a lot growing up.”

With only 11 players on her 2024 spring roster, veteran Bloomfield High School softball coach Charlotte Phillips couldn’t afford to graduate much as the program looks ahead to 2025. The Wildcats will lose their middle infield in shortstop Mollianne Dodd and second baseman Scarlett Goodin, but Phillips does return everyone else from a team that played for the MSHSAA Class 1 District 3 championship.
