BRENTWOOD -- The Central Rebels scored 328 points in the Brentwood Wrestling Tournament on Saturday, far ahead of second place Priory with 297 points, Herculaneum at 274, and Fatima with 253.
Placing first for the Rebels were Dillon Ball (126) with three falls in the tournament with a fall in 1:31 in the finals, and Justin McWilliams (285) who won his finals match with a fall at 5:27 for his fourth fall of the day.
Mike Clark (138) placed second with a 5-3 overtime loss in the championship match. Clark had two falls in the tournament. Also placing second was Brett Taylor (152) who lost by injury default after recording two falls in the tournament. Dakota Duncan (160) recorded two falls and placed second after losing his final match by major decision 11-3.
Matt Moss (132) won his third-place match by major decision 14-6 after having one fall, and Kyle Schwantner (145) won his third-place match with a fall at 5:01 for his third fall.
Garrett Hagerty (170) placed fourth with a 9-7 loss in the third-place match after making two falls in the tournament. Tyler Messer (182) also came in fourth after being pinned at 3:57.
Jonathan Goheen (120) won 4 matches but missed medal matches by criteria. Jacob Hill (195) won two matches for the Rebels.

Good tournament for them, but probably lost their 152 pound starter due to dirty wrestling. Not sure if parents/doctors will let him play sports anymore since this happened last year too. And he has wrestled like 9-10 years. Nice quiet kid but when he steps on mat surprises opponents with his technical abilities.

Sorry to hear that ballen. Dexter just lost two of our three seniors. One broke his leg sparing with the assistant coach and other other was declared academically ineligle. We still have plenty of talent, but mostly sophomores and freshmen right now. And they sure took their lumps at the Tiger Classic this past weekend!

Pretty good showing for a team with not very many wrestlers there.
