Sideline think will see a lot of close games tonight but some blowouts as well.

    Class 4 District 1:

#4 Cape Central at #1 Sikeston-Sikeston pulls away late in the 4th. Closer than what most would think.

    #3 North County at #2 Hillsboro-North County

    Class 3 District 1:

Potosi/NMCC at #1 Ste. Genevieve-SG regardless of who they play

    #3 Fredericktown at #2 Park Hills Central-PHC

    Class 2 District 1:

#5 Scott City at #1 Caruthersville-JV and Freshman get more reps again this week.

#3 Charleston at #2 Malden-Malden by a couple Td's. McCoy will be too much for them.

    Class 1 District 1:

#5 Hayti vs Portageville/Cabool-Hayti in an upset against Pville. They won't turn the ball over 8 times this time around. Made a great change at QB and it suits them.

    #3 Thayer at #2 Valle-Valle, Hey! It's Valle

I will comment on the Hayti vs SV after a more days, im still trying to figure out how to objectively explain it with out Taking away from one team in the black and white along with not going off on the other black and white team that we played when I came to crunch time. The only thing I will say for now is that Kanard Humes is way to good of an athelete to field a punt at the 5 on a bounce and have his 'momentum' carry him in the endzone 15 ft back.

I havne't seen any of the game yet so I'm curious about what your talking about.

-- Posted by Cheesehead. on Fri, Oct 26, 2012, at 2:24 PM
  • Bill, I caught the end of the game on the way home from Fredericktown. It sounded like both teams missed scoring opportunities in the last minute of the game or so. But the St. Vincent announcers were livid about the call you're talking about. Sounded like it should've been a safety against Hayti.

  • It's a little early, but I'm game!

    Class 4 District 1:

#4 Cape Central at #1 Sikeston - Sikeston I agree with Cheese, this could be real close

#3 North County at #2 Hillsboro - North County, NC won the head-to-head earlier by 6, another close one here too.

    Class 3 District 1:

Potosi/NMCC at #1 Ste. Genevieve - SG, Potosi (assume they beat NMCC) did play very well against SG if I remember right up to the end.

#3 Fredericktown at #2 Park Hills Central - Toss up, decided by the coin toss. Less than a TD, unless the 'Cats have figured out how to handle PHC's big boys up front. The 'Cats had PHC beat except for a TD negating penalty with 43 seconds left in the game.

    Class 2 District 1:

    #5 Scott City at #1 Caruthersville - C'ville.

#3 Charleston at #2 Malden - Malden I'm trusting Cheese on this one.

    Class 1 District 1:

    #5 Hayti vs Portageville/Cabool - Portageville.

    #3 Thayer at #2 Valle - Valle

This isn't the pick'em for next round. This is just a place setting the table from last night and was meant for discussion of tonight's games and last night's results. I'll put up the predictions thread on Saturday or Sunday.

That's cool, I'll just copy and paste this on to that lol. Save me some time. Nothing really surprising last night to me. All teams won who I thought were going to. NMCC/Potosi game could be a good one. That drive along with it being cold and wet could be trouble for NMCC.

Two conditions NMCC has a record of not playing well in, Cold (Valle, Cardinal Ritter, MICDS) and long drives (Potosi, MICDS, Priory). But good luck tonight guys! Keep your heads in the game.

Seems like they are playing sloppy with a bunch of penalties and a fumble.

  • Portageville up 50-7 now.

-- Posted by Rachel Crader on Fri, Oct 26, 2012, at 9:06 PM

Bleed sounds like a game where fumbles and penalties are more prevalent than first down and touchdowns. Just a sloppy game by both teams and they are holding on to a slim lead. NMCC has to much speed on the edge and if they could lose those penalties they could have a lot more points. Had a 61 yard TD called back with a block in the back.

-- Posted by wheresthebeef on Fri, Oct 26, 2012, at 9:14 PM
  • NMCC wins 28-27.

Congrats tonight Eagles!! Way to go up their and get it done. It sounded sloppy, but theirs no pictures on the scoreboard, a win is a win. Already 4x as many wins as last year. Now let's get one more next week!!
