We all know Monroe is the best running back but I was wondering who do y'all think is better, Daniel Allen from Portageville or Romello McCoy aka: Skuddy from Malden

  • McCoy by far.

McCoy and Allen are 2 different style of runners. McCoy is more of a shifty speed guy that is most effective on the edge than up the middle. In the game I saw, once he started taking some pretty good hits his effectiveness went down, but if he turns the corner you may not catch him until he reaches the end zone. Allen is more of a punishing runner that almost enjoys contact and can drag guys for yards at a time. He has good speed but not as fast as McCoy but I think overall I would take Allen just because he can physically wear down people and not have to rely on speed and agility. Both players are fun to watch and very good running backs, just offering my viewpoint

  • IMO, Monroe-Cville, McCoy-Malden, Allen-Portageville,Martin-Cape. All have speed, moves, toughness. I think McCoy has the best vision which is hard to teach. Also Phillips from Scott City is a workhorse.

  • Chris Words going to have a breakout second half of the season, and sikeston has a freshman running back who is a beast

Next year, Sikeston is going to have a three-headed monster at runningback between Word, Newman, and Fobbs.
