High School Basketball Forum: Bloomfield vs Thayer

Anyone have any thoughts ? I know nothing about Thayer .

  • I've heard Thayer is big. Not a lot of height, but just stocky. I believe most of those hill teams play zone. Which might help them with Bloomfields post players, but if Tim Hector is on he might make them pay behind the arc tonight. If Bloomfield plays a press, or maybe a man to man to get them to run it could cause some problems for Thayer. I'm thinking rebounds will be key for Bloomfield because if Thayer is stocky and gets a rebound they'll most likely attack the basket right away instead of setting it back up.

  • Thayer played Scott Central really tough last year. Thayer usually plays a matchup zone and at a slow, methodical pace. Coach Pitts is an excellent coach and they'll be prepared. I will be somewhat surprised if Bloomfield beats them.

  • Thayer played man against South Pemiscot several years ago and pushed the ball up and down the floor. In that game a few years ago, they had a couple of players that had good verticals and could play over the rim with ease.

  • Thayer lucky SCC got screwed over last game....still ain't forgot. Depressing knowing that we should be there. Maybe Bloomfield will realize after tonight that posseason ain't so easy. Thayer to tough. Win by 15-25

  • it was probably the "refs" fault Bloomfield did it again... NOT!!!! Bloomfield is a talent bunch of player! Back off and give them some credit (i.e. daniel)

    I see it often how people blame the official for a game and look over the turnovers, fouls, unforced errors, bad shots, ect...

  • Dammdaniel, your posts aren't making your team look any better. Over the years, most folks have always pulled for the team who eliminated them to keep advancing, in order to give their team more credibility. In the past, several bootheel teams have been quick to point out they were eliminated by the eventual state champion, SCC! I think it's time for you to consider doing the same!

  • I guess I needa eat crow. Idk wtf that means. I guess bloomfield might be legit. I apologize to every body if I made u guys mad. I wanted my team to win it all again and I was puttin Bloomfield on blast. I got caught up in my feelings and didnt respect them. I was throwin shade outta jealousy. I give em props for beating thayer. That team pushed us last yr and I rlly thought they would win. bloomfield wanted that game last night and there big guy stepped up. that game winner was pretty sick 2. Yall can hate on me or give me shiii if yall wanna but I was wrong I admit. I hope Bloomfield win it all now so we can say the champs got us. Just remember we will be ready next yr.

  • After beating Thayer my one question is how is Bloomfield still not ranked? They have had one of the best records in class two all year and they have won two of the three tournaments they played in this year.

  • I have wondered the same thig this year. And actually they have won 3 of the 4 tournaments they have been in. Bernie Inv, Scaa Tourney, and District tourney. you would think at this point they would be at least 8Th.
