  • Is this going to be a Varsity only game or Varsity and JV?

-- Posted by CalPreps on Sat, Feb 3, 2018, at 11:26 AM
  • Varsity only

-- Posted by TFA on Sat, Feb 3, 2018, at 11:29 AM
  • Will the game still start at 6:00pm like the jv normally would?

-- Posted by deletable on Sat, Feb 3, 2018, at 12:28 PM
  • That’s what the old time was so I’m assuming it will be the same

  • Does anyone know the standing of the SEMO conferance

  • Thoughts on the game tonight?

-- Posted by CalPreps on Thu, Feb 22, 2018, at 11:41 AM
  • Varsity only, game starts at 6pm. Chaminade will be very tough, maybe not quite as strong as last year, they beat us up there 102-84, it was a 15-25pt lead for them most of game. They beat St mary’s by 20 a few weeks ago and then a week or two later lost to them by 40!!! So who knows...

    -- Posted by cirithungol17 on Thu, Feb 22, 2018, at 11:55 AM
  • I think SEMO conf ended up

    Sikes 7-1

    Bluff 7-1

    Jayz 6-2

Sikes beat Bluff so won the tiebreaker

    -- Posted by cirithungol17 on Thu, Feb 22, 2018, at 11:57 AM
  • Thought we won this when we beat Jackson

-- Posted by TFA on Thu, Feb 22, 2018, at 1:44 PM
  • We did Mrs T, though we and bluff have same record we beat bluff so we are the champs!

    -- Posted by cirithungol17 on Thu, Feb 22, 2018, at 2:45 PM
  • We had to beat Jax in order to tie Bluff at 7-1. If Jayz wooda beat Bluff last week, Jayz wooda won Conf since they beat us in January.

  • Chaminade 24-18 after 1

    -- Posted by sm0723 on Thu, Feb 22, 2018, at 6:20 PM
  • 42-35 Chaminade at half

Hellems is definitely the best player on the court.

  • I don't think anybody ever argued he wasn't. I think sikeston played good to keep it close. Come on bulldogs

-- Posted by Murphdogg on Thu, Feb 22, 2018, at 6:39 PM
  • It’s my first time seeing him in person and I see why he is going to NC State next year is all.

Sikeston switched to man to man to make this game single digits after Chaminade got out by more than 10 since pressing wasn’t going to work against this team.

    Chaminade up 62-57 after 3

    -- Posted by sm0723 on Thu, Feb 22, 2018, at 7:02 PM
  • 71-63 Chaminade with 4:22 to go.

    Chaminade PG just fouled out.

    -- Posted by sm0723 on Thu, Feb 22, 2018, at 7:10 PM
  • 79-66 with 1:15 remaining. People are leaving

    -- Posted by sm0723 on Thu, Feb 22, 2018, at 7:20 PM
  • 81-68 Final

    -- Posted by sm0723 on Thu, Feb 22, 2018, at 7:22 PM
  • 3rd qtr was great. Enjoyed the game I don’t even care that we lost was expecting to. That #4 was awesome. Proud of our team they played hard. Now got the regular season out of the way, time for districts

  • I enjoyed watching Sikeston keep it that close against a Class 5 STL private school!!

-- Posted by IndianPride on Thu, Feb 22, 2018, at 9:27 PM
  • Very proud of our kids going toe to toe with a basketball preparatory academy from the big city. Wow those Chaminade kids can drain 3’s, they are very talented!

Hard to believe St Mary’s beat them by 42. Something must’ve been awry. 😉

  • Chaminade beat St. Mary's by 20 in the first meeting. St. Mary's returned for the 40-point whipping at home in the second meeting. Not sure what happened, but from the game article I read St. Mary's jumped out quick and led 20-6. Chaminade coach benched his starters out of frustration.....next thing you know St. Mary's is running away with it before he puts the starters back in. Probably just kept snowballing from there. St. Mary's is talented and play hard and probably the favorites to win Class 4. After seeing Chaminade tonight, they aren't very deep past their top eight and I can see them become vulnerable without Hellems on the floor or if they have an off-night shooting the ball.

-- Posted by semohoops on Thu, Feb 22, 2018, at 11:36 PM
  • The only problem is he’s never off the floor. Took a 2 sec water break last night and that’s it.

-- Posted by TFA on Fri, Feb 23, 2018, at 4:22 AM
  • St Mary’s has 8 guys that probly trade their sneakers in for track shoes come spring. Geez they are quick!!

Being eight deep isn’t a bad thing. Hell the team on Hoosiers only had 6-7 guys total?? 😂😂

Gotta be careful of post season foul trouble.

    -- Posted by bulldog21forever on Fri, Feb 23, 2018, at 10:58 AM
  • I've not seen a team all year that is very deep past their top 8, so not real sure how that's a bad thing semohoops. I agree that foul trouble could be an issue, but Chaminade doesn't truly pressure the ball much or get after it to lead to foul trouble.

-- Posted by CalPreps on Fri, Feb 23, 2018, at 11:05 AM
  • Anyone know if the Class 4 District 1 tourney games will be streamed online anywhere?

    -- Posted by BobbyKite22 on Fri, Feb 23, 2018, at 11:18 AM
  • I don't know about all the games but championship night might be on The Cube or yhctv.com.

Yeah I would be willing to bet only the championship game is broadcasted on yhc tv

    -- Posted by bulldog21forever on Fri, Feb 23, 2018, at 12:13 PM
  • That's true. Mainly my point is if Hellems ever had to leave the game then I could see them having troubles against your upper competition in Class 5. You can say that about anybody of course. Sikeston found that out against Vashon last year when Fred sat half the game with fouls. Some teams can survive without their top star for stretches. I think Chaminade has the ability to win it all, but they have to be shooting it well like they did last night. They don't have the inside presence.
