    The Squirrels are playing Fargo, North Dakota in their first game at the Midwest Plains Regional in Oskaloosa, Iowa. They lead 5-0 after the third inning so far. Ryan Fortner pitching for Charleston.

    Squirrels defeat Fargo 9-1. Ryan Fortner with complete game win. Charleston out-hits Fargo 9-3.

    Apparently I was duped by gamechanger. I thought it was a little fishy with Fortner on the mound, but went with it. Substitute everything Fortner pitching-related with Trey Tigart. TIGART with complete game win...

  • There are 2 more area teams playing in Babe Ruth Regional tournaments.

    The SEMO South 13 year old team based in East Prairie with boys from East Prairie, Chaffee, and Scott City are in Fountain, CO and beat the Kansas team 19-7 in their first round game today.

    The SEMO South 15 year old team based in Piedmont with boys from Piedmont, Leopold, and Advance are in Boonville, MO and play their first round game today against Iowa.

    The SEMO area is well represented.

    Ryan Fortner gives Squirrels a quick 2-0 lead in the first inning with 2-run HR. Playing the host team Oskaloosa, Iowa for the championship and they need just one win.

    This is, of course, if the gamechanger update is correct.

    The Squirrels are headed to the World Series with 6-0 win over Oskaloosa. Headed to their second World Series in program history.

    This year's WS will be in Covington County, Alabama and starts Aug. 15.
