  • 5 of the top 10 ranked class 2 schools have fallen with number 9 Louisiana to play number 13 Vienna for a district title. so could be more.

  • Vienna was eliminated by Belle yesterday. And I believe Louisiana lost to Barat today. So that's 8 of 15 teams that received votes out already. One more tomorrow for sure between Holcomb and Portageville.

  • Maybe this has been mentioned on a different thread, but I saw that Neelyville, #1 ranked in Class 2 at (record 20-2), lost in district finals to East Carter, 5-4 score. Wow.

  • East Carter is really good. People that follow closely know that.

  • Sportsnerd,

What does East Carter have going for them? I'm sure they're a great team, since they beat Neelyville. I just haven't seen them any this year.

  • I can add a little insight. Just five losses on the spring, all to high quality teams (Bluff, Springfield Catholic, Sikeston and Clearwater twice). With exception of Bluff which was the season opener, all those losses were by just 1-2 runs. Very solid hitting team. Very well coached.

I would say the sophomore, Logan Saffle is their ace. He pitched a complete game 2-1 loss against Sikeston against Sikeston's ace in Tigart.

  • Does it seem that the highest number of state ranked schools outside of the two major metro areas are located in Southeast Missouri?

  • Is it Monday yet?

  • Hats off to East Carter. They have good team speed and are very scrappy. We had a great year with over 40 wins fall and spring combined, but on Tuesday they played better than we did. They a good shot against anyone as they are a good team and Saffle is a competitor on the hill. I have a lot of respect for coach Crowley and the redbirds.
