  • One of the best games early season HS games I've seen in a long time between Scott City and Senath-Hornersville. Awesome game that came down to the final play with a wild ending. Would like to see them meet again in May!

  • Congrats to Charleston and coach Minner on a 4-0 start. He deserves to reap the rewards of his hard work and time put into his program.

  • Didn't get cheated.. Just a bad call. It happens. Senath-Hornersville would've taken the lead. Just a bad ending to a fun game.

    -- Posted by Star67 on Sat, Mar 19, 2016, at 10:44 PM
  • There was no bad call I seen the same play it was the right fielders white sunglasses that you thought was the ball down not a dropped catch!

    -- Posted by MDC33 on Sat, Mar 19, 2016, at 10:54 PM
  • I guess I saw something different.. Still a fun game to watch. Could be a great sectional matchup as well.

    -- Posted by Star67 on Sat, Mar 19, 2016, at 11:35 PM
  • I don't think anyone got "cheated", however I do think the umpire could have done a better job getting into position to see it, and been more vocal/confident in calling it, rather than letting both sides react for so long. (I never saw a call made until the fielders were on their feet several seconds later.)

From where I was, I could not tell. All that's certain is there was a catch, a collision, something white hit the ground among the bodies and was frantically picked up, and both sides simultaneously thought they had either won, or taken the lead. Really bizarre play to end a ballgame.

Either way, Scott City won, and it was a heck of a game. Both teams are forreal.

  • I doubt Senath can beat New Madrid since they couldn't beat Scott City's # 4 pitcher but I guess we will see.

    -- Posted by MDC33 on Sun, Mar 20, 2016, at 1:49 AM
  • Notre Dame has a pitcher named "Will Ferrell?" That should be interesting.

  • @MDC33

Senath-Hornersville threw two sophomores against Scott City. They used their best two on Friday night, and their #3 in relief. So that matchup was #4/5 vs #4.

  • I think the kid that started for Scott city was the same kid that started the championship last year in the state finals. Number 4 pitcher WOW

-- Posted by dodgeball on Sun, Mar 20, 2016, at 11:49 AM
  • That kid is not a # 4 pitcher. His parents may not promote him like other pitchers are being promoted, but he's a great kid and an awesome pitcher.
